Media themes seeking: controversial, hidden agenda, taboos, secrets, discrimination, inequality, privileges,  challenges to social norms,  masks,  cover -ups and other uncomfortable issues we sometimes choose to hide.

Let’s go there again! “What’s Your Elephant” as in ‘the elephant in the room’ is metaphorical idiom for an obvious truth that is either being ignored or going unaddressed. The idiomatic expression also applies to an obvious problem or risk no one wants to discuss, It is based on the idea that an elephant in a room would be impossible to overlook; thus, people in the room who pretend the elephant is not there have chosen to avoid dealing with the looming big issue.

An important and obvious topic, which everyone present is aware of, but which isn’t discussed, as such discussion is considered to be uncomfortable.

  • There will be an Artists Talk panel &  workshop as well as a two month-long interactive piece inviting the community to share their ‘elephant’.
  • Artists are welcomed to participate in a artists talk & community outreach art project.
  • Artists who are interested in volunteering in the art project please contact the producers of the show.
  • All participating artists are encouraged to participate in all of the events; however, the only requirement is to be available the opening night.
  • All work must be original artwork – ready to hang or be displayed. Artwork must include short narrative that will be displayed with work
