Alana DaCosta is a creative rebel. Alana uses many mediums to share her creative energy and continues to expand beyond the limitations of any box or label as a mother, vocalist, musician, poet, creative community builder and educator.
Alana’s eclectic music blends neo-soul with jazz, reggae, hip hop and a drop of funk. A graduate of the Dillard School of Performing Arts, she excelled in voice and instrumental training. As an international performing artist and previous member of the Howard University Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Alana has performed throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. She has shared the stage with icons such as Freddie Jackson, Beres Hammond, Roberta Flack, Babyface, Angelique Kidjo, Erykah Badu, Common, Cee-lo, Anthony Hamilton and more.
